Carey Haralson (MS Wildlife, 2008). Carey's thesis was a study of the influence of human activities on white-tailed hawk distribution, habitat associations, and productivity on Texas barrier islands.

Nicholas Mannan (MS Wildlife, 2008). Nicholas researched the factors affecting distribution and detection of Boreal Chorus Frogs and Wood Frogs at Cape Churchill, Manitoba.

Amanda Miller (MS Wildlife, 2008). Amanda's thesis addressed geophysical aspects of bird and bat collision with wind turbines in West Texas.

Bibek Sharma (PhD Fisheries, 2008). Bibek's dissertation research addressed the effects of cadmium on tadpole growth and development.

Caleb Huber (right, MS Fisheries, 2007). Caleb's research addressed the habitat preferences and early reproductive development of juvenile common snook in riverine environments.

Sandeep Mukhi (PhD Biology, 2006). Sandeep's dissertation research focused on the toxicology of highly energetic compounds in aquatic ecosystems. He is now conducting postdoctoral studies at Carnegie Institution of Washington.

Dr. Naoki Kumakura (Postdoctoral Research Associate, 2002-2005). Naoki's research addressed the endocrine and molecular regulation of ovarian follicle maturation and ovulation in fishes. He is now back in Japan conducting research on fish aquaculture.

Matt Giovanni (MS Wildlife, 2005). Matt's studied aspects of prey partitioning between sympatric grassland raptors.

Other Highlights
Juan Zalapa (left, Undergraduate Research). Juan is currently Postdoctoral Research Associate and Plant Geneticist at the University of Wisconsin (Madison). He recently visited Texas Tech University to deliver a keynote speech at the annual banquet of TTU's McNair Scholar Program. Juan is a former McNair Undergraduate Scholar of the laboratory and is the first TTU McNair Program alumnus to have earned a PhD degree in any field of science.
